by Anna Jurinich

This is a wonderfully imaginative picture book for kids about the true meaning of Christmas. It is a story that will transport children of all ages into a beautiful imaginary world which consists of many different ornaments and important messages.

Most of us can relate to the idea of putting all of our Christmas ornaments away after the holidays. But few of us have as many colorful and interesting ornaments as this book portrays. The ornaments are of a clown, a bird, Brassy the Trumpet, Silver Ball, Angelina and so on. The ornaments however seem to be communicating to one another in a very unique way, as they are put in the box for next year.

The ornaments are bright and colorful but more than that, they exhibit an amazing depth of thought. They proclaim things such as “The more you give away, the happier you will be, and the less you have, the more you will receive.” What a GREAT message for kids, especially in our materialistic culture. Even the Sleigh confessed to doing something not right: you see…Sleigh was not very generous. There are other beautiful ornaments too, especially that of Mary holding the little baby Jesus. This ornament can sometimes illuminate the whole box.

This odd Christmas box resembles all of us. We are all different, and we make up this wonderful world of ours and enrich it through our differences. The beautiful illustrations bring home the message of hope, love, and kindness which highlight the true meaning of Christmas.

Thank you Anna for such a wonderful picture book for kids! Not only is your book educational but it will definitely inspire kids of all ages to look towards the true meaning of Christmas.
