This is a GREAT picture book with an important message: we should try not to lie all the time; otherwise, we can become chronic liars–not knowing what’s true or false. So, its important for us to stop lying in time before it’s too late.
This is certainly the problem Larry had. He was a chronic liar. He’d tell little lies and no so little lies. And he didn’t realize how bad it was to lie until Lucy gave him a different kind of response to his lies. Did she teach him some valuable lessons?
There are several important themes in this GREAT picture book. First, you have to watch when you lie, because even small lies can lead to bigger ones later on. Sooner or later, no one will trust you or have anything to do with you. Secondly, it is difficult to develop friendships with others if you are dishonest. No one likes liars. So, we have to make sure that we are as honest as possible as often as possible.
