This is a wonderfully inspiring picture book for older kids about downs syndrome. The photographs are so colorful and real — they make each of the messages contained on each page vivid and inspiring.
Kids with downs syndrome can do so many different things and should not feel limited. In fact, downs syndrome does not need to limit the child’s and adult’s life at all. Instead, the individual can do a lot of different things that most kids and adults normally do every day, despite the fact that they have downs syndrome. They can play dress up, stack blocks, water the grass, dance, bake, jump high, show ponies, swing, play soccer, golf, tennis, and video games, sing, learn and be educated, and so on. And kids and adults with downs syndrome can have a lot of fun too.
It is important for us to revise how we view kids and adults with challenges such as downs syndrome. They are regular kids and adults who can develop extraordinary talents. Thank you Denise for bringing such an important message to us in this very important picture book!
