Librarian On the Roof! A True Story, By: M.G. King

librarian on the roof! This is a GREAT picture book for kids 4-8 about an important topic.

What child doesn’t enjoy going to the library? Most kids do! But what if the town you live in has no library for kids?! Hmmmmmmmmmmmm?????????????

This is precisely what happened in Lockhart, Texas until a bold librarian changed all that! The library had no one in it, and the books and tables simply gathered dust. So, the librarian decided to change things around. Rose Aleta had to raise money. And she did by spending a week on the roof during very cold and stormy weather. Did she raise enough money to save the library and build a children’s section?

This book is based on a true story of Rose Aleta Laurell’s adventure. It is an inspiring and courageous story. After reading this story, kids of all ages will definitely want to go to the library, and use it often! How great is that!
