This is a wonderfully educational book for creative children. It will teach kids a bit about deductive reasoning and comparing and contrasting different animals from owls, foxes, mice, roosters, elephants to swans, horses, moose, pigs, cows, tigers, kangaroos, and monkeys.

The story is about Detective Duck. He is trying to find out who stole a cake from the cake contest. Twelve animals are suspects. Detective Duck uses deductive logic to quack the case. After all, the thief left hairs on the cake. We wonder who the thief may be. Turns out, it is fairly easy to pin him down.

This story will have children of all ages laughing out loud. Brian Rock writes the story in a very humorous and clever manner. There are two learning activity pages at the end of the book for the reader to develop his reasoning skills. The illustrator, Sherry Rogers, also does a splendid job of illustrating the story.

Thank you Brian and Sherry for such a wonderful children’s picture book. Not only does it have a meaningful message! It also is very instructional too.
