The Adventures of Little Christamee-Book Review

The Adventures of Little Chrisamee
Written by: Janice Austin Bates
Illustrated by: Kim Sponaugle

This is a colourful and inspiring picture book for kids about the creation story told through the eyes of a little Angel, Chrisamee. Kids will fall in love with the colourful illustrations and the inspiring message contained within the pages of this picture book.

The story starts with Chrisamee who goes on an adventure. After looking down from heaven, she discovers a big square hole on the side of heaven. She didn’t know what that was, so she decided to ask Father God about it. Father God told her that it was the earth. But then Father God takes Chrisamee on a day-by-day adventure that will change her forever. Father God has her witness His creation of the beautiful world as we know it today, such as the light, water, sky, flowers, the trees, birds of the air, animals, and much more. Chrisamee was so fascinated and excited. Then on the sixth day, Father God created Adam and Eve. And Father God said that man reigned supreme over the rest of creation. This excited little Chrisamee so much. What a great message for kids!

To say that this book is wonderful is an understatement. Not only will kids learn the marvelous creation story after reading this picture book, but it will help to rekindle their love of the world and help them appreciate all the marvelous things Father God created and to rejoice and be glad. The illustrator, Kim Sponaugle, also did a splendid job of vividly capturing the creation story with a fascination that children will be inspired to read over and over again. Thank you Janice for such a wonderful picture book!
