A Heartfelt Picture Book for Kids (59)

This is a super cute picture book about a mother’s love for her child, and how strong the bond is between mother and child. The story also talks about how hard it is for the child to distance him/herself from the mother. But ultimately the mother has to care enough for her child to let the child go and experience the world for him/herself. This can be scary for the child and the mother too.

The message of the story is brought to life by a Mama Kangaroo and a baby Kangaroo, Jo-Jo, who loves his Mama very much. Mama Kangaroo doesn’t want to let him go, and leave her pocket which is beside her heart. But he has to leave the comfort and security of her pocket in order to experience the world first hand.

What a tender tale about the pain and beauty of growing up!
