Janice Green’s “The Creation” Book Review

This is a wonderful picture book about the creation story in Genesis. Janice Green goes through the seven days of creation. Each day is followed by a verse from the Bible which bring the points of the day of creation home for kids. This book will help kids become aware of the majesty of the creation story.

In addition, Janice Green brings the points to life for kids through her wonderful and unique quilt block illustrations. Janice taught herself how to create these hand appliqued quilt blocks which she used to illustrate her book. They are beautiful indeed.

This book is important in our secular time. Kids are manipulated into believing false accounts of things through the media. God as a creator is constantly challenged in the media. Parents have to offset the secular views of our times by showing them that the creation story is more than a storyteller’s myth. God is at work in the creation story. What a great message for kids!
