Synopsis: This is a wonderful book for parents about how to most effectively parent their kids. It is difficult to know how to bring up children in today’s media culture and in our difficult times. Clayton does a tremendous job in helping parents to think about how they parent their kids. After all, only parents can ensure that they will bring up children who are emotionally intelligent and happy.

One thing that is very evident from Clayton’s book is that parenting a child effectively is hard work. What will emerge for the reader after reading this book is that parents have to be careful to model the right behavior. Children are imitators, par excellence. Therefore, if we want to bring up healthy and happy kids, we must model these behaviors in ourselves when we deal with them. This is one of the surest ways for them to learn how to act in a way that is confident, patient, and disciplined. Also, if parents don’t want their kids to be yelling and arguing all the time, they have to try and live in harmony with one another too, and relate to their kids with respect. This may be the most difficult thing to bring about as parents.

Overall thoughts: This book is for all parents who are trying to bring up healthy and self-actualized kids. Clayton’s book is also devoted to parents who are struggling to bring up their kids in the most meaningful ways, and who may not have the skills to handle their kids because of disciplinary problems. This book will show parents how to deal with many different problems from how to teach kids confidence, proper decision-making skills, patience, discipline, bonding, loving communication, and handling arguments, just to name a few. I think the book is a treasure-trove of wisdom for parents.

  2. Kimberly K says:

Tantrums are a new experience for my family. My daughter only had two major tantrums in her life, other than that, it’s been pretty smooth sailing. My son, on the other hand, is a different story. We are only now learning how to parent through tantrums. This is a great giveaway and I’m sure the parents of my students would love to hear about this book as well.
