Synopsis: Cormey’s book is way too cute. The rhythmical quality of the book is like no other I have ever read. Foot is a wonderful rabbit that has a very different name. His friends tend to have rather ordinary names, such as Fluffy, Bunny O’Hare, Carrot Top, and Big Ears Ernie. They just all hop around in pairs. But Foot’s best friends are his brothers, who he has named, Foot-Foot, and Foot-Foot-Foot. They love to play and hop together. But they also sing together. Then three mean hunters with big guns come to the briar patch. What will happen to the brothers? You must read the book to find out!
There is also an important take away message in the book, and this is the emphasis of the relationship of the brothers. These siblings sing together and have fun. So, siblings can get along and they can be best friends to each other. I love this take away message because many times brothers tend not to get along.
Overall thoughts: I absolutely love this book. The illustrations are super cute, and funny. Any child will chuckle when (s)he reads the book. The book comes with a CD and DVD and because of the catchy tune of the song, kids of all ages will be humming the song a lot, I would expect.
I will be reading the book to all of my nieces and nephews. I already read the book to one of my nieces and she just fell in love with it. When I asked her what she loved most about the book she said that she loved the names of the rabbits and how they sang. Ever since she listened to the CD that came with the book, she has been humming and singing the song over and over again. This has not only frustrated her brother but he now wants to read it too! How wonderful.
