MEET AUTHOR PAMELA HAMILTON
Pamela Greenhalgh Hamilton followed her childhood dream to become a writer when she swapped her career as an elementary school teacher for one as a journalist and public relations specialist. She was the Associate Editor of the Rhode Island Jewish Herald for several years and was the staff writer for The Chronicle, the weekly newspaper serving Dartmouth and Westport, Massachusetts. She covered local issues, especially relating to education, for both papers as well as wrote numerous feature articles. Her interviews often focused on people in the arts community and included local artists, authors Jon Land and Janet Taylor Lisle, and chef Emeril Lagasse.
After leaving The Chronicle staff, she worked in media relations at both Bristol Community College in Fall River, Massachusetts, and James Madison University in Harrisonburg, Virginia. She now provides academic counseling to adults returning to JMU to complete their bachelor’s degree.
A recipient of recognition by the New England Press Association and the Council for Advancement in Secondary Education, her articles and fiction have appeared in regional and national publications. Originally from Massachusetts,
Pamela now lives in Virginia’s Shenandoah Valley with her husband Bate and three cats. Snow Day is her first picture book.
