Out and About At the Zoo
Written and Illustrated by Jo Linsdell
What a wonderful picture book for kids! It is colourful and bold. It will transport any child’s bedtime into a favourite time.
The story opens up with mom taking her child to the zoo. They enjoy their day at the zoo watching all the different animals. There is a lot to see and do at the zoo. They see the colourful parrots, long and tall giraffes, active monkeys, hungry tigers and lions, energetic zebras, ferocious crocodiles, hopping kangaroos, and prowling elephants. Even the hippos seem to capture their attention. But then the time comes for them to leave the zoo and plan another trip at a later date.
This book is an important reminder about the importance for moms and dads to spend time with their kids doing activities as a family. In our current technological age, it seems easier to let our kids simply watch television or a video. But it is more important to actually connect with our kids and spend some quality time doing fun activities. And going to the zoo is one important way of doing that.
The story is entrancing and majestic. The illustrations are so vivid and bold that kids of all ages will be transported into the pages of the book, and will be mesmerized by it. I loved the book from beginning to end, and I’m sure every child who cuddles with Mommy or Daddy at bedtime will feel the same way.
