This nonfiction picture book is about Tyler who always feels inferior by Jake. He always boasts about doing things better than Tyler, especially in sports. Tyler feels awkward and his self-esteem suffers as a result.
After talking to his Uncle at length, Tyler begins to understand that Jake’s attitude towards him has nothing to do with him. Most arrogant and cruel kids have self-esteem problems themselves. Most times, the abuser has his/her own hang-ups and self-esteem issues. This is an important message or kids who have to cope with mean kids.
There is a real problem with kids today. They are very arrogant and cruel. Kids today tend to think that they are better than everyone else. But this is a pompous image and an inferior position of others. Kids have to overcome this condescending attitude to be successful adults who are social and can cooperate with others.
