This is a great picture book with an important message for kids!
Peter is ready to move into his new house and he’s excited. But then he goes outside for a walk at his new house and runs into Jack the guy with the spiky hair. You see, Jack is a bully. He encourages everyone to pick on Peter. He loves to bug people who are new and who don’t know their way around, like Peter. Peter struggles until something unexpected happens to Jack and the tables turn.
Can Jack ever learn to accept Peter and not be intimidated by him? Can Peter ever feel comfortable with Jack?
This book has several important themes. One of them is about forgiveness. Peter forgives Jack for all his terrible behavior and befriends him. The second theme is that even a bully can be made whole through kindness. Most bullies are damaged and vulnerable themselves. Sometimes, love and compassion can conquer all. The last theme is that friendship knows no bounds. Sometimes they occur in the least likely situations.
